1805 Yekaterinburg,Russia Greyish-green porphyry, ormolu Strict in form egg-like vase of greyish-green porphyry mounted with an ormolu figure of an eagle was made at the Yekaterinburg lapidary works in 1805. The factory founded in 1726 was at its zenith at that time. Vases of that type were typical in the late 18th century, in the early 19th century they were decorated with bronze according to the taste of that time. |
