In 1989 Professor Saulus Sondetskis, a famous conductor, People's Artist of the USSR, winner of State Prizes, established a new orchestra named the St Petersburg Camerata Orchestra. February 14, 1994 this ensemble was awarded a unique status of the State Hermitage Orchestra.

Gala Concert in the Main Courtyard of the Winter Palace


The Great Waltz Festival is organized with the purpose of developing traditions of democratic chamber performances established in the course of the famous 'Strauss seasons' almost two centuries ago. Within the frames of the Great Waltz festival eleven concerts are held annually, in accordance with the number of summer seasons that Strauss spent in St Petersburg.

International Festival Dedication to Maestro - a tribute to the greatest composers, artists and musicians - suggests organizing concerts to mark the anniversaries. Peculiarity of Festival Dedication to Maestro is not only in the concert venue but also in its multi-genre character. As a part of festival classical and jazz concerts, gala concerts of ballet and opera stars take place.
