5th INTERNATIONAL GALA BANQUET IN THE GALLERIES OF THE HERMITAGE MUSEUM

SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS: OLD MASTERS - PICASSO - ART OF THE 21st CENTURY - GARDEN OF CONTEMPORARY ART - BANQUET OF FLOWERS

To raise money for the renovation of the eastern wing of the General Staff Building and its conversion into a museum of the 19th-21st century art.
About the project

20.00	Guests arrive at the Nicholas entrance (Portico with Atlantes). Cocktail in the galleries of the New Hermitage.
20.30	The banquet dinner will be presented in an unusual format as a "Banquet of Flowers". The interior will be decorated with natural flowers and still lives; delicate and exotic dishes will amaze the guests. During breaks guests may visit "the Garden of Contemporary Art" and view works by famous contemporary painters - some of them attending the banquet. On show will be works by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, Zurab Tsereteli and others.
22.30	Music and dancing is always an important part of the reception. This year guests will be presented with a very unusual performance on the stage of the Hermitage Theatre.
23.30	A familiar but fascinating feature of the evening will be a walk through the Hermitage at night among the great paintings and sculptures. The Peacock-clock will strike midnight in its inimitable way and guests will have an opportunity to see a fine exhibition of Picasso and a recently donated collection of prints by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov.
00.30	The opening event for by Anish Kapoor's 'sky mirror' in the Great Courtyard of the Winter Palace and a farewell nightcap.
01.30	Carriages

Dress code: for men - black tie, for ladies - evening dress which may be enriched with futuristic flavour to suit the context of the evening.

Guests to the 5th International Charity Banquet on the 25th of June 2010 are invited to make a donation of :

The names of Patrons will be used on all printed and promotional documents and they will be offered priority in seating.
